Lisa Mead, CPA

Lisa brings over twenty years of accounting, finance and information technology experience. Lisa has spent the past sixteen years as an accounting services provider assisting companies with general accounting needs such as day-to-day accounting oversight, ERP system implementations, SEC and financial reporting, technical accounting, stock based compensation and internal control compliance in such capacities as Controller, Assistant Controller and Project Manager. Lisa’s diverse and varied experience enables her to bring best practices, fresh perspective and valuable feedback to the companies she assists. In addition to general accounting assistance, Lisa has led the Sarbanes Oxley 404 implementation and monitoring for over 40 public companies including Neurocrine Biosciences, Retrophin, MaxLinear Technologies and Regulus Therapeutics. Her exposure to and knowledge of the biotechnology industry allows her to address the risks unique to the industry. Lisa’s approach to each company she assists is to be collaborative to ensure that, as part of your team, she best represents management and the company’s interests. Lisa began her career with Deloitte in their financial statement audit practice in Los Angeles where she gained experience in international accounting and SEC reporting. Lisa received a B.A. in Economics and Accounting from University of California, Santa Barbara and an M.S. in Accountancy from San Diego State University and is a licensed CPA in the state of California. Natalie D'Orazi, CPA

Natalie D’Orazi is a licensed CPA with over sixteen years of accounting and auditing experience. Natalie began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as an Assurance Associate and stayed until she was a Senior Manager. She worked in both the San Francisco and San Diego offices. Since September 2017, Natalie has been assisting Mead clients with technical accounting and SEC reporting as well as serving as Project Manager on SOX compliance projects including planning, scoping, process documentation, testing, remediation and reporting. Natalie has worked in the life sciences, manufacturing, real estate and financial services industries. Natalie holds a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Business Economics from UCLA.

Heidi Hudson, CPA

Sr. Associate, Accounting and Finance

Heidi is a licensed CPA with over thirty years of experience in accounting, internal controls, process improvement and audit, including Sarbanes Oxley, finance, information technology, PhRMA Code and operations. Heidi spent the last 19 years performing Sarbanes-Oxley compliance work for small to mid-sized San Diego-based Biotech firms, including managing the Sarbanes Oxley Compliance Program for Amylin Pharmaceuticals and serving as the Project Manager on the implementation and monitoring of Sarbanes Oxley 404 at seven Mead clients, such as Travere Therapeutics. Heidi’s approach to compliance includes collaborating with the business and providing valuable feedback to enable more efficient and effective system of internal controls based on risk. Heidi has also worked as a divisional Controller where she managed the daily and monthly accounting activity for a Department of Defense contractor and led the effort to ensure consistency in accounting for intercompany transactions corporate-wide. Heidi received a B.S. in Accounting from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California.

Margo Brogowicz, CPA

Margo has fourteen years of diversified accounting, business consulting and auditingincluding 8 years of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance work.  She spent 5 years at a CPA firm where she performed audits, reviews and facilitated the implementation of internal controls with clients in various industries.  Margo also spent five years at a publicly traded company managing the SOX compliance effort.  She has experience with all phases of SOX compliance including planning, scoping, process documentation, testing, remediation and reporting.  She also has experience designing and executing internal control, financial, and operational audit programs.

Laura Churchill, CPA

Laura is a licensed CPA with thirty years of experience in audit, including Sarbanes Oxley, internal controls, process improvement, accounting and operations. During her last seven years with Mead, Laura has managed over 10 SOX engagements for life science and high-tech companies including SOX implementations and monitoring engagements. Laura spent eleven years leading the internal audit department for AMN Healthcare, which included setting up the internal audit department, developing audit plans to review business operations and controls for improvement, performing investigations, leading the annual SOX compliance process and leading new acquisitions through SOX implementation efforts. In her first three years with AMN, Laura worked as the Controller where she managed the daily and monthly accounting activities. She began her career at Deloitte in the San Diego audit practice where she served a diverse set of clients in the public, healthcare and government sectors in her eight years with the firm. Laura received a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of San Diego.

Rebecca Sumrall, CPA

Rebecca has eighteen years of accounting and auditing experience.  She began her career at Deloitte in the Los Angeles audit practice after receiving a Bachelor's degree in Business Economics with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of California, Santa Barbara.  She also worked in the Deloitte San Diego office.  In addition to public accounting, Rebecca has also worked for private companies including having been an Accounting Supervisor for a local company where she was responsible for month-end close, tax filings and supervising team members.  Since 2012, Rebecca has been assisting companies with all phases of SOX compliance including planning, scoping, process documentation, testing, remediation and reporting. Rebecca is a licensed CPA.

Danielle Adams, CPA

Danielle has eight years of accounting and auditing experience including having been an Audit Manager with Ernst & Young’s New York audit practice.  Since 2011, Danielle has worked as a finance and accounting consultant assisting companies with all aspects of their accounting including maintaining their general ledger, financial statement preparation and assisting companies with their financial statement audit.  Most recently, Danielle has been assisting companies with general accounting assistance as well as all phases of SOX compliance including planning, scoping, process documentation, testing, remediation and reporting.

Annie O'Connell, CPA

Annie O'Connell is a licensed CPA with over ten years of accounting and auditing experience. Since 2016 Annie has been assisting Mead Consulting clients with Sarbanes Oxley projects performing project management, planning, documentation, walkthroughs, testing, recommendations and remediation. Annie began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as an Assurance Associate. She worked in both the Albany, NY and San Diego offices. During her years in public accounting Annie served a variety of industries including biotechnology, medical device, defense, healthcare, and manufacturing. In addition to public accounting, Annie has worked for Cubic Corporation as a Senior Internal Auditor. While at Cubic, Annie participated in the planning and execution of audit work related to both SOX and financial statements for domestic and foreign entities of the Company. Annie holds a Masters of Science and a Bachelors of Science in Accountancy from Siena College in Loudonville, NY.

Jenni Stephens, CPA

Jenni Stephens is a licensed CPA with six years of accounting and auditing experience. Since 2013, Jenni has been assisting companies with all phases of SOX compliance including planning, scoping, process documentation, testing, remediation and reporting. Prior to working for Mead Consulting, Jenni worked with Ernst & Young LLP as a Senior in the San Diego audit practice where she performed risk assessment, planning, and direction of financial statement audits. Her clients ranged in size from closely held, venture capital backed start-up companies to billion dollar SEC registrants. Jenni served a variety of industries including biotechnology, medical device, defense, and retail and consumer products. Prior to her employment in public accounting, Jenni worked for a private equity firm as an Accountant. She was responsible for maintaining the company’s books and records including compilation of financial statements. Jenni received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics and Accounting from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Matt Haines, CPA

Matt Haines is a licensed CPA with five years of accounting and auditing experience. As an accounting and finance consultant, Matt has assisted several San Diego biotechnology companies with Sarbanes Oxley walkthroughs, remediation and testing. Matt started his career at KPMG, LLP as an audit associate in the San Diego office. Matt also worked with BDO USA, LLP as a Senior Associate in the San Diego audit practice where he performed risk assessment, planning, and direction of financial statement audits. In addition to public accounting, Matt has worked for Cubic Corporation within the Internal Audit department. While at Cubic, Matt participated in audit work related to both SOX and financial statements for domestic and foreign entities of the Company. Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from San Diego State University.

Stacey Slover,

Stacey has 13 years of accounting and auditing experience, including having been a Senior Manager with KPMG’s San Diego audit practice. Since 2008, Stacey has worked as an accounting and finance consultant (and employee) assisting companies with various aspects of their accounting and reporting including financial statement preparation and review, month end accounting and reporting, SOX compliance, SEC reporting, acquisition and divestiture accounting, restatement accounting and reporting, and financial statement audits. Most recently, Stacey worked with a company managing a two year stand-alone audit for a significant divestiture. Stacey is a licensed CPA (inactive).

Anna Gladson, CPA, Inactive

Anna is a licensed CPA with over 15 years of experience in corporate accounting, internal audit and public accounting. Anna started her career with Ernst & Young’s San Francisco audit practice. During this time, she worked primarily with biotech and technology companies in the early stages of SOX adoption. She spent almost 10 years at Jack in the Box in a variety of roles, including internal audit and corporate accounting. She has expertise in SOX, system implementations, and technical accounting relating to leases and revenue. Anna holds a B.S. in Accountancy from San Diego State University.

Felicia Brown

Felicia brings over eighteen years of Financial Statement and SOX auditing experience as well as operational accounting experience to the team. Felicia began her career as an auditor with Moss Adams and subsequently PricewaterhouseCoopers out of San Diego. During this time, she worked primarily with technology companies in the early stages of Sarbanes Oxley adoption. Her industry experience includes: biotechnology, medical device, defense, healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, and not-for-profit. Felicia’s most recent experience has been in Internal Audit as a SOX auditor with projects including documentation, walkthroughs, testing, remediation and reporting for publicly traded biotechnology and technology companies. Felicia holds a B.S. in Accountancy from San Diego State University (SDSU), San Diego CA.

Susan Carberry

Susan brings over 30 years of Information Technology, Financial Management, and Internal Controls experience. She has worked on over thirty (30) Sarbanes-Oxley projects serving as our designated information technology consultant focused on IT controls. A sample of those clients has included: ISTA Pharmaceuticals, Apricus, Hansen Medical, Tesla Motors, NeoPhotonics, MaxLinear, Senomyx, Ambit Bio, Cadence Pharmaceuticals, and Cytokinetics. Susan’s areas of expertise include: Internal Controls Management, strategic planning and management of Information Technology, Business Process Reengineering, Enterprise Resource Planning Implementations, Project Management, and Corporate Governance. Susan received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from California State University. Prior to consulting she served as the Sr. Internal Controls Manager for ARCO Products Company/British Petroleum and PRG-Schultz.

Ginger Stavasnik

Ginger brings over 15 years of Financial and Bookkeeping experience to our team. Ginger specializes in full general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and financial statements. She has experience in aiding small businesses in setup and maintenance of proper accounting systems as well as clean up. Ginger teams with owners and managers to ensure they are getting the information they need on a timely basis. She has worked extensively with Quickbooks, Quickbooks Online, Peachtree and MAS. Ginger attended the Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy at San Diego State University and graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accountancy in 1996.

Kate Sullivan, CPA

Kate is a licensed CPA with over 15 years of accounting, auditing, and consulting experience and has extensive background in designing, implementing, and enhancing clients’ internal control frameworks. Kate began her career at KPMG as an Assurance Associate and then worked as a Senior Financial Accountant for a mid-sized publicly traded company prior to joining EY. Kate spend nine years at EY in the Enterprise Risk Management practice focusing on internal audit and Sarbanes-Oxley. Kate has worked with clients in manufacturing, consumer products, retail, and other industries. She has experience with all phases of SOX compliance including planning, scoping, process documentation, testing, remediation, and reporting. Kate obtained a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Wyoming.

Wendy Lathrop

Associate, Accounting and Finance Wendy brings over four years of Financial Statement auditing experience to the team. She began her career at KPMG LLP in their Washington, DC audit practice, and later also worked in their Boston audit practice. Wendy has worked with clients from the Federal, state and local, not-for-profit, education, manufacturing, and financial services sectors. Her experience includes all phases of the audit financial statement audit including planning, process documentation, testing, remediation, and reporting. Wendy holds a B.S. in Accountancy from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA.
